HEY, HI, HELLO
I don’t think I have ever done an introduction… so here it goes!
My name is Sophia, and I have been working in digital marketing for over eight years now, starting Social Créatif in early 2018.
Back in my earlier years, I worked as a dermal therapist in the beauty industry, becoming the first Brow Expert at Benefit and being featured in Grazia magazine for my lash extension skills. At the time, it was a rough industry… there was little stability, and I was taken advantage of a lot. One boss didn’t pay me superannuation for a year… when I found out and asked her about it, she told me she had just forgotten.
After buying my first house at 19 and experiencing the world of real estate, the seed was planted, and that was what I wanted to do. A few years later, I started in a reception role at a leading real estate agency, working my way up to ensure I learned all facets of the industry. I worked for some of Australia’s top agents, including Vivien Yap, and went on to be the sole agent of a billion-dollar development.
Now, this may seem like I am going on a tangent, but stay with me. For my entire life, I have been obsessed with animals, and from the age of ten, I started volunteering at the local dog rescue. Animal rescue is something I have carried with me throughout my whole life, and as much as I loved real estate, the battle to keep up with my rescue work was challenging.
This is how and why my digital marketing journey began. It was love at first click.
While travelling with my boss, I decided to volunteer at Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA). I was obsessed – like, I went back and did it again two weeks later. This led to me being offered a dream role to do their marketing… I had never thought of starting my own business, but it suddenly dawned on me that I needed to take this chance if I wanted to live the life I had always dreamed of.
I started my business on a whim, and I didn’t have a clue what I was doing.
Having forged great working relationships in the past, I was instantly busy from day one. I know I was lucky in that respect.
Though, it was still a roller coaster.
This also got me thinking if I was so desperate for freedom, there must be so many others out there who felt the same.
It allowed me to really focus on the ‘why’ of my business. It wasn’t so I could continue to rake in the dollars and grow my own business, but to help other people live out their own respective dreams.
I am now successfully helping people increase sales, make more money, take back their time and create the lifestyle they deserve!
Can you believe this was me keeping it short?
